Physiotherapist Self-Referral

This Surgery has a First Point Contact (FPC) Physiotherapy Service

If you have a musculoskeletal (MSK) complaint, you can book directly to see the physiotherapist without needing to take a GP appointment.

Advanced Clinical Practice Physiotherapists run this service.

They are qualified to prescribe independently, order investigations, carry out injection therapy and plan complex case management.

This service is not designed for ongoing physiotherapy treatment. If you require ongoing physiotherapy, then a referral should be made to secondary care physiotherapy in the usual manner.

The physiotherapists can refer you to CMATS, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain Team, Podiatry, Orthotics, Physiotherapy, Lifestyle Programme, and the National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) just like any other member of the primary care team

The Physiotherapists will provide advice on the management of your problem, provide appropriate exercises and refer on as required. No treatment will be given.
